What is your timeline for obtaining a pet? How soon or what date are you wanting to bring a puppy home? Do you have vacations planned, home remodels, moves, or other issues that will prevent you from accepting a puppy when offered to you? What are those exact dates? Please do NOT put down “As Soon As Possible” if you cannot accept a Maltese puppy when offered to you. Please understand that there is a $25 per day boarding fee to hold a dog, should you need to wait for pick up.

What SPECIFICALLY is the most important thing you are looking for in your Maltese puppy. Are you ok with me choosing your puppy for you based on the criteria that you provide?

Are you currently working with any other breeders? If accepted to my waiting list, do you plan to continue to shop for another Maltese?

Do you own or rent? Does your current home have stairs? Pool? Fenced backyard?

How many hours per day are you gone from the home? What will the puppy do and where will it be housed when you are gone?

Where will the puppy relieve itself? Where will puppy sleep? Do you understand that adopting a puppy is like taking on an infant and cannot possibly be trained by the time you receive it? Do you understand that puppies may cry the first few nights when you bring it home?

Have you ever owned a Maltese before? Where did you get your Maltese? Please describe your knowledge of the breed, health, grooming, etc

Do you plan on keeping your Maltese in a long, “Show” coat or keeping it in a “puppy cut”? If you are wanting to keep your dog in a long coat, please explain your grooming experience. Are you familiar with tear staining, the patterns and solutions for prevention?

Do you plan to exhibit or use puppy for service? What is your knowledge of training or exhibiting? Would you consider showing your dog? Breeding? Are you willing to take basic puppy training classes with yor dog? *
